China's consumer inflation picked up its pace in January, while producer prices narrowed. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the CPI came in at 1.8 percent year-on-year in January, compared with 1.6 percent in December.
The producer price index fell 5.3 percent in January from a year earlier. The market had expected producer prices to fall 5.4 percent, after a dip of 5.9 percent in the prior month.
