Various activities are being held across China to celebrate the Lantern Festival, which falls today.

In Datong, in north China's Shanxi Province, the 5,000-meter ancient city wall was lit up by hundreds of decorative lanterns.
In Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, people decorated lanterns with virtues written on them in an age-old tradition.
At a local theme park, more than 40,000 sparkling lanterns and ice sculptures amazed visitors.
In Shibing County in southwest China's Guizhou Province, people took part in dragon parades to drive away the evil spirits and prayed for blessings.
The Lantern Festival is the 15th day of the first month of the lunar year. It is the last day of the New Year celebrations.
