Museum Director, Shan Qixiang, has expressed his appreciation of the artist's generosity, and said a tentative plan is already in place for how the money might be used: one fifth will go to the preservation of relics, and the remainder to staff-training and research. The artist said he owes much to the Palace Museum as, from a young age, he has spent many hours sketching there.
The exhibition runs through May the 25th, and admission is free.
