The G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting has opened in Shanghai. Chinese Premier Li Keqiang delivered avideo message at the opening ceremony, saying that major economies should be mindful of the spillover effects of their policies.
He added that finance policymakers should improve their coordination, and stand together to "tide over difficulties". Premier Li said he is confident of China's capability to handle the complex situation at home and abroad despite a slowing down economy.
He also said there was no basis for a continued depreciation of the yuan adding China would expand aggregate demand as appropriate, and focus on supply-side structural reforms.
