Nowadays, the most festive season on the Chinese calendar is also a bridge for cultural exchange. And the world tour of the performing-arts extravaganza “Cultures of China, Festival of Spring” is playing a key role.

After almost a month of touring, the event wrapped up in Mexico this week, with audiences packing in for a variety show involving song, dance, traditional Chinese opera, and acrobatic stunts.

The global tour was initiated by China’s State Council in 2009. It has since become an important part of Chinese New Year celebrations for overseas Chinese people as well as locals and has reached more than 200 cities around the world. This was the troupe’s first appearance in Mexico.
