There were over 1,700 proposals aimed at maintaining stable growth amid China's economic slowdown. The hottest topic this year was China's economic development plan.
CPPCC members spoke to the public about the supply-side reforms the country is trying to advance to optimize its economic structure. The members also talked about how to improve confidence during this period of "New Normal" growth. 2016 is the starting year of China's 13th Five-Year plan. There was a heavy focus on quality growth as members contributed ideas to advance China's development goals.
important topics included green development and improving people's standards of living. There were a total of five plenary sessions and more than 10 group discussions. Nearly 2,000 CPPCC members attended the sessions.
