CCTV9英语新闻:日本新版历史教科书出炉
This is Japan's second round of screenings since the government tightened its policy on education. The Education Ministry reviews private sector publishers every four years.
Its screening panel will ask textbook publishers to change words or accounts of historical events, if it deems them not in line with government positions.
The new screening guidelines adopted in 2014 have explicitly demanded reflection of government positions in senior high school textbooks. To pass the screenings, publishers have to revise textbook descriptions.
