China has carried out the extradiction of 97 suspects in a transnational telecom fraud case from Malaysia. The suspects include 65 people from the Chinese Mainland and 32 from Taiwan.
Twenty other suspects from Taiwan had been arrested with the 97 in Malaysia in late March, but they were released shortly after they arrived in Taiwan on April 16th. The fraud case involved millions of dollars, and those fallen prey were citizens from over 20 provinces on the Chinese Mainland. Police on the Mainland say they have informed their Taiwan counterparts of the case.

"We informed the Taiwan police in the first time about the extradition of the 32 suspects from Taiwan. We have also invited the Taiwan police to send personnel here to jointly investigate with us into the case so as to trace back the money for the victims," said Chen Shiqu, assistant inspector of Criminal Investigation Dept. of Ministry of Public Security.
