暴雨将继续席卷整个中国。湖北、辽宁、河北和河南已涨洪水,大量居民被困。
Heavy rainstorms continue to sweep across China. Hubei, Liaoning, Hebei, and Henan provinces have seen flooding, and stranded residents.
The water level of the Three Gorges has reached 164 meters, and the Yangtze River has witnessed its first flooding. The Huai River has for the first time this year reached its warning level.
A level-4 emergency response was launched on Friday in Central China's Henan Province. Floods there have left 35 people dead, and 77 people missing. The death toll in the flooding in Hubei has risen to six. In Northeast China, the terrible weather in Liaoning province has led to 30 deaths.
Sixty people in a village in Hubei Province were trapped by the flood.
Over 20 soldiers were deployed for the rescue.
They pulled everyone to safety with ropes.
But it was no easy matter.
Two of the soldiers nearly lost their lives.
"At that time, I thought I could have climbed over, but as the water kept rising, I stumbled when I swam to the center of the river," said Dong Gao, People's Armed Police of Enshi.
The torrent kept rising.
The two soldiers managed to escape after they had been swept 20 meters away.
"When I turned over, I saw that he had fallen into the water, and was nearly swept away completely by the flood. That's really scary, honestly, I'm really grateful for his help," said rescued resident.
After a short rest, the two were back on the job.
It's a testament to the commitment of all the soldiers.
After four difficult hours.
The sixty residents are evacuated to safety.
