China has successfully launched the world's first quantum satellite. The 'Quantum Experiments at Space Scale,' or QUESS, was blasted off from China's northwestern Gobi Desert at 1:40 AM on Tuesday. In its two-year mission, QUESS will try to establish 'hack-proof' communications using quantum technology.

China has just sent a satellite in the orbit and a project is being closely watched in not only the world's scientific circles but also in the trenches of cyber security. It was a perfect launch in China's Gobi desert. The rocket is carrying China's first quantum communication satellite into orbit from a launch pad in Inner Mongolia. The big question is how will this study affect quantum communication. It is an important question in this era of cyber attacks and information leaks.
