The top Chinese diplomat also held separate individual talks with his counterparts from South Korea and Japan.
Speaking to his South Korean counterpart, Wang said the good relation and accomplishments achieved in the past did not come easily, and should not be disrupted or damaged. He stated that China firmly objects to the deployment of the THAAD anti-missile system and will not accept any threats to its strategic security interests. China expects South Korea to seek proper solutions accepted by both sides.
And at the meeting with Japan's Foreign Minister, Wang said bilateral relations are facing opportunities and challenges arising. He said China is willing to work together with Japan to make differences controllable.
Both foreign ministers also exchanged views on issues like that of the East China Sea. They agreed to strengthen dialogues, prepare for a high-level meeting and launch a negotiation mechanism to solve the dispute in the region.
