A senior Chinese diplomat has said the G20 Summit is expected to focus more on developing countries than the previous ones. He says it's in line with China's status as the largest developing country.

When it comes to global economic development, China, as a developing and emerging country, always pays attention to the interests of other developing countries, because they play a decisive role in the world economy. If there is no sound development or prosperity in developing countries, including those in Africa, the world will not get better. We have the responsibility and obligation to help developing countries, including African countries, to achieve that goal," Chinese vice foreign minister Zhang Min said.

Zhang Ming was speaking at an international meeting in the Kenyan capital Nairobi.  He said China has invited a record number of developing countries to the summit in Hangzhou. South Africa is a G20 member. Senegal, Chad and Egypt are also sending delegations. Zhang said the voices of developing countries will be heard in Hangzhou.
