KUNMING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Police in southwest China’s Yunnan Province said on Friday a suspect confessed to killing 19 people after a conflict with his parents, who were among the victims.

Yang Qingpei, born in 1989, returned to his hometown of Yema Village in Huize County on Wednesday and allegedly killed his parents following a fight while trying to ask them for money, said a statement issued by the Yunnan provincial public security department.
云南省公安厅发布一则声明称，杨清培，出生于1989年，于周三返回会泽县野马村的家中，在向父母索要钱财时与他们发生了争执，并痛下杀手。
Fearing he would be discovered by community members, Yang allegedly killed 17 neighbors, including three children, before escaping to the provincial capital of Kunming, where he works.
据称，由于担心被村民发现，杨培青在逃回省会昆明之前，将17个邻居杀害，其中包括3个小孩。
After a field investigation, police identified Yang as the suspect and caught him the next day in Kunming.
在现场调查后，警方认定杨培青为嫌疑人，并于次日在昆明将其抓获。
Further investigation led by the Ministry of Public Security is under way.
