Shengyue, from Shucheng County of east China's Anhui province, had neuroblastoma when she was three years old. She became high paraplegia because of the deformity of the rib cage, even though her parents tried their bests to seek treatment everywhere. She had to drop out of school until Junior Grade One in 2016, but she became interested in drawing. In March, Zheng Quan of a local art studio, who was touched by her strong will and talent, provided for her training for free. Sheng's drawing skills have improved rapidly in the past few months; her tutor and volunteers are now preparing for her work exhibition. “I envy all good things. Although I can’t do what I want, but as long as there is a pen and paper, I will draw to express beautiful feelings. Painting gives me the wings of dreams, which make me become the free bird, the happy fish, even the white cloud up in the sky,” Sheng said.
