A face mask factory in Xiamen, Fujian province has been especially busy in recent days. The factory originally produced protective gear for laborers. However, due to the huge demand for smog masks, it switched to the research, production and sales of face masks. It has since become one of the top 10 face mask companies in China. Since Nov. 19, 2016, when a bout of severe smog hit China, the company has been extremely busy. Employees are working overtime from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. to satisfy clients’ needs.
福建厦门一家口罩工厂最近特别繁忙。该厂原先为劳动工人生产保护装置。但是由于市场对雾霾口罩的巨大需求，该厂转而研究、生产和销售口罩。从那以来，该厂已经成为了全中国10大口罩工厂之一。自从2016年11月19日一场严重的雾霾袭击中国以来，该厂一直处于极度繁忙之中。员工们加班从早上8点干到晚上11点以满足客户们的需求。
According to the company, orders for face masks are 20 times higher than average. They received orders for 30 million masks between Dec. 20 and 25. Due to limited production capacity, they are forced to turn down 90 percent of their potential business, only accepting orders from old clients. Every day they deliver over 300,000 masks.
据该公司表示，口罩订单要比以往平均水平高20倍。在12月20日到25日期间，他们收到了3000万口罩的订单。由于生产能力有限，他们被迫拒绝掉了90%潜在的业务，只接受老客户的订单。每天他们都要交付超过30万个口罩。
"We are very busy at night. Clients come to the factory, pushing us to deliver the products," said Zhang Di, a manager at the company.
