China International Ballet Season in Beijing has just opened. Originally presented by the Russian State Ballet, "Swan Lake" has always been an all-time favorite among ballet fans. The Russian State Ballet is now touring in Beijing to bring the most authentic performance of "Swan Lake" to audiences.
Drama, beauty and passion, "Swan Lake" has it all. The fantasy and romance story centers around a beautiful young lady who has been turned into a white swan by an evil magician, and only a man’s true love can release her from her misery.
The Russian State Ballet is now touring in Beijing to bring the most authentic
performance of "Swan Lake" to audiences.
This time, the Russian State Ballet is keen on bringing the most original version of Tchaikovsky’s iconic piece.
"This version of the Swan Lake brought by the Russian State Ballet really captures the essence of Tchaikovsky’s piece. And during this year’s China International Ballet Season we’ve seen over 30 ballet performances and audiences are craving for more." said Wang Quanxing, National Ballet of China.
Another highlight from the ballet season includes "Spartacus" presented by the Liaoning Ballet.
The piece follows the exploits of Spartacus, the leader of a slave revolt against the Romans known as the Third Servile War.
“This version is exactly the same as the version we staged at the Bolshoi Theatre. True to the original version." said Yury Grigorovich, Choreographer.
The National Ballet of China also has something prepared for the holiday season. Their latest ballet production "Chinese New Year" which has been hailed as the Chinese version of "The Nutcracker" will be staged over the weekend.
