A 5.0 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, at a "very shallow depth" on Friday afternoon, Xinhua News Agency reported citing Japan Meteorological Agency.
No tsunami warning has been issued. It was not immediately clear whether the temblor caused any injuries or damages.
