An amateur video has been posted online, showing burning cars and thick smoke outside a mosque in the village of Yadouda in southern Syria. According to anti-government activists, a car bomb blew up outside the mosque in the rebel-held village.
It happened as worshippers were leaving after Friday prayers. Activists said dozens of people were killed in the attack, and the injured were taken across the border to Jordan for treatment. However, the death tolls varies greatly from different sources, ranging from 29 to 43 from the activists side. And the state-run TV confirmed the bombing, but said only 3 people were killed.
The motive of the blast could not immediately be determined. Yadouda is in the southern province of Daraa, the birthplace of the unrest against Assad.
