A week of activities designed to promote Chinese culture is under way in Bangkok, Thailand.

The campaign, jointly launched by China’s Ministry of Culture, China Cultural Center of Bangkok, China-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center and Guangdong Provincial Art Industry Association, kicked off at the China Cultural Center in the Thai capital on Saturday.
Events during the week include a film and television showcase, live performances and training sessions. There will be a focus on Guangdong-style puppet shows and paper-cutting, among other art forms.

Organizers said they hope the activities will demonstrate traditional Chinese culture and deepen understanding between the peoples in the two countries.
