加拿大环境部说:“危险且可能危及生命的情况”
Environment Canada issued Saturday a tornado warning for the Rural Municipality of Rockwood, including the towns of Teulon, Stonewall and Stony Mountain.
The warning was ended around 7:20 p.m. CT and replaced with a severe thunderstorm warning.
The weather and climate agency is warning people to take necessary safety precautions.
Earlier Saturday, it issued storm watches, including potential tornado alerts, for parts of west-central Manitoba. It urged people to be prepared for the worst.
"This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation," the weather agency said in a statement.
Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop that might produce tornadoes as well as golf ball-sized hail and strong wind gusts. It has issued numerous sever thunderstorm warnings in central Manitoba and also parts south of Winnipeg.
People in these areas should take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches, Environment Canada says.
