Hartpury University is celebrating after being named as the number one English mainstream university for teaching in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2022.
Hartpury came out on top in the Teaching on my Course category; second for overall satisfaction and academic support; and third for assessment and feedback.
Russell Marchant, vice-chancellor of Hartpury University, based just north of Gloucester, said: ‘To achieve such recognition after only four years as a university is even more rewarding.’
Rosie Scott-Ward, pro-vice chancellor of Hartpury University, added: ‘I could not be prouder of the feedback we’ve received from our students in this survey.
‘To be named as the number one English mainstream university in the teaching category is particularly pleasing given the unprecedented challenges of Covid-19.’
Overall student satisfaction levels at Hartpury continued to increase, this year by more than five per cent, meaning the university continues to rank above the sector average.
The result follows an outstanding performance in the national WhatUni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) in May 2022 where the county university also won the Lecturers and Teaching Quality category.
Several Hartpury University degree programmes received a perfect 100 per cent student satisfaction rating, including the BSc (Hons) agriculture/applied agriculture and BSc (Hons) equestrian sports science.
Student satisfaction was also notably high among students on the BSc (Hons) veterinary nursing (97 per cent), BSc (Hons) bioveterinary science (95 per cent), BSc (Hons) sport and exercise sciences (93 per cent), and BSc (Hons) sports therapy (92 per cent).
