The top leadership of the Communist Party of China says it will continue to deepen economic reform, and maintain a proactive fiscal policy and a stable monetary policy in the coming year. The message comes from a Politburo meeting that discussed the government’s latest work report.
The report says the government will maintain an appropriate level of economic growth while improving the quality of GDP and upgrading economic structure. It highlights domestic consumption as the engine of the economy.
The report says the government will deepen economic reform and push for more political reform. The government will continue to open up the economy and strengthen its global competitiveness. On social development, the report says the government will continue to promote urbanization and develop agriculture.
The report also touches on social welfare, education, medical reform and environmental protection. The Government Work Report will be submitted for to the National People’s Congress, which will review it in early March.
