US Newspaper USA Today has cited Malaysian investigators as saying that pilot Zaharie Ahmad Shah is believed to be "solely responsible" for Flight MH370 flying hundreds kilometers off course.
An unnamed high-ranking officer attached to a special investigative branch of the Malaysian police force told the newspaper that investigators are asking relatives of the pilot, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, about his behavior leading up to the March 8th flight. The source says no evidence of mechanical failure or hijacking has so far been found.
On Wednesday, the son of missing pilot said he’s ignoring speculation about his father’s role in the loss of Flight 370, and is still awaiting confirmation that it vanished. Also on Wednesday, FBI Director James Comey said an FBI technical team will soon be able to retrieve computer data that was deleted from the pilot’s home flight simulator.
