大熊猫星徽、好好比利时公开亮相
Two giant pandas have made their public debut at the Pairi Daiza zoo in Belgium. They were leased to the zoo by a conservation and research center in southwest China’s Sichuan province one month ago.
Hao Hao, the female panda, and Xing Hui, the male, are both four years old. Their new house at the zoo, located roughly 60 kilometers outside of the capital Brussels, was inaugurated just last Sunday by visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belgian King Philippe, along with their spouses. The pair of pandas are scheduled to stay in the country for the next 15 years as part of a research program. If the project is successfully completed, it will be the longest time any giant panda has lived outside of China.
