broke作为形容词的意思是
without money
一文不名的,没钱的
例:
I can't afford to go on holiday this year - I'm (flat) broke.

一提到“没钱”、“穷”,
好多人首先想到的必定是poor
其实呢,
就像老外形容“老人”不用old用senior一样
poor这个词他们也是不大爱用的
而且poor一般表示“家境贫寒”
