美军胡德堡枪击案嫌犯身份曝光
The soldier suspected of shooting dead three people, before killing himself at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas, has been identified as Ivan Lopez.
U.S. soldier SPC Ivan Lopez is pictured in the Sinai Peninsula between
2007 and 2008 during his service with the 295th Infantry of the Puerto
Rico National Guard in this undated handout photo by PR
National Guard obtained by Reuters April 3, 2014.
The base commander said the 34-year-old specialist was battling mental illness, when he went on the shooting spree and there was "strong possibility" that he had an argument with another soldier before the incident.
US Army Secretary John McHugh said the soldier joined the service in 2008. He had served two tours of duty abroad, including four months in Iraq in 2011. He had no direct involvement in combat and had not been wounded. The Army Secretary said Lopez was being evaluated to see if he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Lieutenant General Mark Milley said the army is leading the investigation.
Four out of 16 soldiers who were wounded have been released from hospital. No motive has yet been given for the shooting on Wednesday.
