1.Green thumb 绿拇指：A special ability to make plants grow. 指园艺技巧精湛的人
例句：His garden is very beautiful. I think he must have a green thumb.
他的花园很漂亮，我想他一定有园艺的才能。
2.Yellow bellied 黄色肚皮：A coward. 懦夫、胆小鬼之意
例句：Joe is a yellow-bellied guy. Don’t send him on such a tough assignment.
乔是个胆小鬼，别给他如此艰难的工作。
3.Pink slip 粉红纸条：A notice of dismissal from employment. 被解雇之意
例句：All 1,300 employees got pink slips today.
今天1,300名职员全部拿到了被解雇的通知单。
4.White elephant 白色大象：An expensive item that is costly to maintain. 累赘之物、昂贵又无用的东西
例句：Over the years this old recreation vehicle has become a white elephant in our yard.

5.Gold opportunity 金色机会：A very good chance to achieve something. 绝佳机会去达成某件事

6.Red tape 红色胶袋：A set of rules which stop progress. 让进度缓慢的繁文缛节（通常指官僚体系）
例句：Poor people have to suffer a lot of red tape to get welfare.

7.Silver screen 银色萤幕：The film industry. 泛指电影产业
例句：You became a legend of the silver screen.

8.Blue collar 蓝色衣领：Working in the manual labor job. 俗称的蓝领阶级
例句：Bart is sick of his blue-collar job.
