Bob: Window seat, please.

passport (n.) 护照
passport 指的就是出国必备的「护照」。在 15 世纪时，人们透过航海旅行，要进入异国最先进入的就是港口，出示的证件就称为 passport，字面意思即是「通过港口」(pass 和 port)，后来就沿用成现今出入境使用的护照啰！
Not long after Robert landed in Barcelona, his passport and his wallet were stolen.
Robert 才抵达巴塞隆纳不久，他的护照和钱包就已经被偷了。
check-in luggage (n.) 托运行李
check-in luggage 意指「托运行李」，「登机行李」则是 carry-on luggage。 check 在这里也可以被拿来指动词「托运」。
Henry took out a cap from his check-in luggage.
Henry 从他的托运行李拿出一顶鸭舌帽。
I’d like to check these two suitcases.
我想托运这两件行李。
scale(s) (n.) 磅秤
scales 意指「磅秤」，值得注意的一点是同样指「磅秤」，在英国多半写为复数 scales，在美国则是写为单数 scale。 Bob 人在英国，所以对话里听到的是复数 scales。
There is a scale in the kitchen.
厨房里有个磅秤。
Do you prefer window seat or aisle seat? 你想坐靠窗还是靠走道？
这句话意思是「你想坐靠窗还是靠走道？」window seat 指的是「靠窗座位」，aisle seat 则是「靠走道座位」，aisle 指的即是「走廊；过道」，注意这个字的 s 不发音。
I prefer window seats because I love looking at the scenery.
我偏好靠窗走道，因为我喜欢看风景。
boarding (n.) / board (v.) 登机
动词 board 的意思是「登机」，常见于和其他字组合，如：boarding pass (登机证)、boarding call (登机广播)。
Bob boarded a plane to Poland.
Bob 登上了前往波兰的飞机。
depart (v.) 出发
depart 意指「出发；启程；起飞」，在机场常见的 departure 则是其名词形，指的是「出境」，而「入境」则是 arrival。

gate (n.) 栅门
gate 一般指「栅门；活动门」的意思，用在机场则为「登机门」。

passenger (n.) 乘客
passenger 意指「乘客」。搭配不同的交通工具，就能用来指称不同类型的乘客，如：airline passenger (机上乘客)、train passenger (火车乘客)。
Passengers are not allowed to bring their pets onto the bus.

delay (n./v.) 延误
delay 意指「延误；耽搁」，而耽误了多久时间，常用句型「be delayed by + 时间」表示，被什么事情耽搁，也可以用 be delayed by sth. 表示。
The train was delayed by 20 minutes.

I was delayed by my hamster this morning. He was too cute to leave behind.

cancel (v.) 取消
cancel 的意思是「取消」，变形时注意拼法有两个 l 。
