1.as big as life
原意是只和「原物一样大」，通常被用来说某个人「亲自出现」了。
Ex：Johnny came in the classroom and stood there as big as life！
Johnny走进教室了，他活生生的站在那里！
2.as black as pitch
完全黑暗，一片漆黑。 pitch=沥青
Ex：I couldn’t see anything in the room because it was as black as pitch.
那房间非常漆黑，我什么都看不到。
3.as cool as a cucumber
非常冷静的。 cucumber=小黄瓜(或许是因为小黄瓜都是凉凉的吃，你们觉得呢？)
Ex：I stayed as cool as a cucumber during the test.
我在考试时非常地冷静。
4.as flat as a pancake
非常平坦。
Ex：It’s a perfect day for sailing, the sea is as flat as a pancake.
海面非常的平坦，今天真适合驾船。
5.as hard as nails
冷酷无情的。 nail=钉子
Ex：He is as hard as nails with his staff.
他对他的员工非常冷酷。
6.as innocent as a lamb
清白的，天真无邪的。
Ex：She couldn’t have done that terrible thing, she is as innocent as a lamb.
她不可能做出那样糟糕的事，她是清白的。
7.as old as the hills
很老的，久远的。
Ex：The building is as old as the hills.
这栋建筑已经非常古老了。
8.as pleased as punch
非常开心的，趾高气扬。 punch=英国著名木偶戏Punch&Judy的男主角
Ex：She was as pleased as punch for winning the race.
她因为赢得了赛跑比赛而非常开心。
ps：Punch是英国著名木偶戏Punch&Judy的男主角，Punch长相逗趣，有大大的鹰勾鼻(Roman nose)，鸡胸驼背，声如鸡叫，完全是小丑扮相，他骄傲自满，总是调皮地逗唱，但其实是个恶霸。

非常狡猾的，诡计多端的。
Ex：He is as sly as a fox. Don’t trust him.
