Bob: Excuse me, I have some questions.
Bob：不好意思，我有一些问题。
Counter staff: Yes?
柜台人员：好的请说。
Bob: I have a box of fish and chips with me, I wonder if there’s any place in this museum where I can eat food.
Bob：我身上带着一盒炸鱼薯条，我想知道博物馆内有哪里可以让我吃东西。
Counter staff: I’m afraid you are not allowed to consume any food inside the museum.
柜台人员：很抱歉，博物馆内禁止饮食。
Bob: I see. Are we permitted to use cameras inside the exhibition hall?
Bob：了解。那请问展厅内可以用相机吗？
Counter staff: Yes, you may, as long as it is not for commercial purposes.
柜台人员：是的，可以，只要不是作为商业用途。
Bob: Great. And one more question: where is the toilet?
Bob：太好了。还有一个问题，厕所在哪里呢？
Counter staff: There’s one in the basement, and there is also one at the back of the museum near the Asian galleries.
柜台人员：地下室有一间，在博物馆后侧靠近亚洲陈列馆旁还有一间。

allow (v.) 允许
allow 的意思是「允许；准许」，同义字有 permit。常用句型为 allow sb. to do sth. (允许某人做某事)、be allowed to do sth. (被允许做某事)。
You’re not allowed to talk during the exam.
考试期间禁止谈话。
consume (v.) 吃，喝
consume 可以指「吃」或是「喝」，尤其指「大量地吃喝」，或是指「大量地消耗」，如：consume time (耗时间) 、consume energy (耗能)。
The big man consumed five hamburgers within 15 minutes!
那个大胃王十五分钟内吃完了五个汉堡！
This charity project consumed a huge amount of the company’s budget.
这项慈善活动花了公司一大笔钱。
exhibition hall (n.) 展厅
exhibition 为名词，意思是「展览」，由动词 exhibit (展示) 衍伸而来，常见搭配如 on exhibition (展出中)；hall 的意思则是「大厅」，因此合在一起 exhibition hall 即是指「展览厅」。
Jimmy’s paintings were on exhibition in Madrid a few months ago.
几米的画作几个月前在马德里展出。
There are four exhibition halls on the second floor of this museum.

commercial (adj.) 商业的
commerce 的意思是「商业」，为名词，它的形容词形是 commercial。常见搭配用法 commercial purpose (商业用途)、commercial success (商业成功)、commercial publication (商业刊物)、commercial law (商法)。
The Economists published articles relating to commercial topics.
经济学人出版商业主题相关的文章。
然而，commercial 也可以当做名词，意思是「商业广告」。同义字为 advertisement/ad。
Thai commercials are usually very creative.
泰国的商业广告通常都非常有创意。
basement (n.) 地下室
basement 的意思是「地下室」，由 base (基底) + -ment 结合而来。
The basement is full of spiders.
地下室都是蜘蛛。

hold on (phr.) 等一下
想请对方稍等或是留步时，可以用上 hold on，意思是「稍等一下」。另外 hold on 也可以表示「紧抓；坚持」。
Hold on! You haven’t paid!
等等！你还没付钱啊！
locker (n.) 置物柜
lock 动名词同形，意思是「锁」，因此 locker 即是指「附锁的置物柜」。
I put my backpack in the locker and headed for the roller coaster.
我把背包放进置物柜然后去玩云霄飞车。
gift shop (n.) 纪念品店
gift shop 直翻是「礼品店」，其实就是卖纪念品的店，亦称作 souvenir shop，souvenir 即是「纪念品」。
There’s a gift shop in every museum.
每间博物馆里都有一间纪念品店。
I bought a postcard from the British Museum as a souvenir.
我买了一张大英博物馆的明信片当做纪念品。
