范长龙会见哈格尔:对美言论不满
A Chinese military leader has said while meeting with Hagel, that China is "dissatisfied" with the remarks Hagel made in Japan.
The comment came when Fan Changlong, vice-chairman of China’s Central Military Commission, met with Hagel on Tuesday. Fan told Hagel in the presence of the press, that the remarks he made in the ASEAN defence ministers meeting and to Japanese politicians were tough and had a clear purpose. He added that the Chinese people are dissatisfied with such remarks. In an interview with Japan’s Nikkei newspaper on Saturday, Hagel criticized China’s air defense identification zone over the East China Sea as provocative and unilateral.

Fan said China hopes the US can be a responsible great power and do more to promote regional stability and the friendship between the two countries and militaries. Fan also expressed his dissatisfaction of Hagel’s remarks over the Diaoyu Islands issue, the South China Sea issue, and cross-strait ties. Hagel is the first US defence secretary to visit China since Fan took office. He is on a ten-day visit to Japan, China and Mongolia.
"I can tell you frankly, your remarks made in the ASEAN defence ministers meeting and to Japanese politicians were tough, and had a clear purpose. The Chinese people, including myself, are dissatisfied with such remarks." said Fan Changlong, Vice-Chairman, China’s Central Military Commission.
