Nerd 书呆
:A person who gains pleasure from amassing large quantities of knowledge about subjects often too detailed or complicated for most other people to be bothered with.
这种人从获取大量知识中得到满足、快乐，但他们探究的知识通常太仔细、复杂，而不为大家重视
Geek 怪胎
:A person who is socially excluded from a general population. Unlike nerds, geeks do not necessarily have to be smart. They often create groups among themselves, and generally have different tastes from common society.
这种人通常和大众有点疏离，不像书呆子一样聪明，而他们通常会自成小团体，拥有和大众不同的品味

Nerd v.s. Geek
社交方面:
Nerd: 只有在自己专精的方面能够与人沟通(甚至不行，在沟通能力的地方会解释)
Geek: 可以与人正常地沟通，在自己专精的方面则可以发表许多精辟的见解
沟通能力:
Nerd: 喜欢使用许多专业、艰深的术语，因此与一般人沟通有困难
Geek: 比较喜欢举例，虽然或许也不是那么好懂
关注的事务:
Nerd: 通常是比较宏观的事情，例如该领域的重大发展、理论的出现
Geek: 会比较留意日常生活的相关事务，例如新闻、流行文化与专精领域的连结，因此他们能够在沟通时举出例子
择偶:
Nerd: 通常只能找到另一个Nerd，毕竟正常人可能不太喜欢Nerd
Geek: 由于他们的社交能力正常，Geek可以算是正常人，所以可以找到其他正常人当伴侣
工作类型:
Nerd: 由于他们不擅社交，通常只能待在研究室、电脑桌前，这种不太需要与人互动的地方
Geek: 任何地方都可以看到Geek的存在
