Clean up your room! Pick up your clothes! （整理好房间！衣服都捡起来！）
➤ pick当动词用时有捡拾的意思，所以pick up sth可以指把某物捡起来、抱起来、举起来。
I tried his home number, but he didn’t pick up. （我打电话给他但他没接。）
➤ 此句的pick up等于answer the phone，也就是接电话的意思
He said he picked the woman up in a bar. （他说他在酒吧搭讪了那个女人。）
➤ 这句的用法较非正式，但在口语上非常实用，就是指搭讪、调情。
Are you going to pick up the children after school? （你要去接孩子放学吗？）
➤ 中文里说的去「接」某人，英文可用pick up来表达。
Could you pick up my suit from the cleaner’s for me, please? （你可以帮我去洗衣店拿西装吗？拜托。）
