1. Appreciate (v.)
I appreciate my teacher. (X)
I appreciate Tom’s effort to the company .(O)
appreciate + V-ing
I appreciate having this chance to discuss with you about the future development of this company .
appreciate that+ 子句
I appreciate that you spent your time talking to this kid.
He doesn’t appreciate those expensive wines which I bought for him.
We appreciate the need for immediate action.
The value of our house has appreciated by 50 percent in the last two years.
sb. would appreciate…
(used when you are politely asking for something)
I would appreciate it if you could let me know in advance whether or not you will be coming.

Thanks for your friendly reminder.

I was just thankful that no one was hurt in this accident.
4. grateful (adj.)

Grateful:

Thankful:
I was thankful that the meeting didn’t last long, because I had to get home.
