1. 跨年怎么说？
「跨年」这个词在英文里面没有直接相对应的词，会用 celebrate New Year’s Eve 来表达，不会说 cross the year 喔！

2. 你要去哪里跨年？
接下来就从最基本的「你要去哪里跨年？」开始吧！
A: Hey, where are you going to celebrate New Year’s Eve?
A：嘿，你要去哪里跨年呢？
B: Well, I haven’t decided yet. I stayed home last year, but I want to do something different this year.
B：嗯，我还没有决定。我去年待在家里，但是今年我想做点不一样的事。
跨年只待在家太无聊吗？下面是你可以做的事情：
attend New Year’s Eve celebrations (v.) 参加跨年活动
watch the fireworks (v.) 看烟火
go to a concert (v.) 听演唱会
listen to live music (v.) 听现场音乐
dance the night away (v.) 跳舞跳通霄
go to a party (v.) 参加派对
travel abroad (v.) 到国外旅行

3. 要不要一起跨年？
邀请朋友的时候可以运用 why not 的句型：
A: Since you haven’t decided, why not go out with me?
A：既然你还没有决定，要不要和我一起出去跨年呢？
B: That sounds great! I wasn’t sure who to hang out with on that day.
B：听起来很棒！我之前还没找到要一起出去的人！
邀请人的时候也可以这样说：
A: Hey, it’s New Year’s Eve. Do you want to celebrate New Year’s Eve together?
A：嘿，跨年夜到了，你想一起跨年吗？
B: Sure, let’s not stay home like a couch potato this year.
B：当然，我们今年就别窝在家里当懒惰虫了吧！
提出建议的时候也可以活用 How about 的句型：
A: What do you want to do to celebrate New Year’s Eve?
A：你跨年夜想做什么呢？
B: How about having a gourmet dinner, and then watching the fireworks near Taipei 101?
B：你觉得先吃一顿精致的晚餐，然后再去 101 附近看烟火，这样如何？
4. 婉拒
但如果已经有其它规划，需要婉拒时，除了 sorry 以外，还可以这样说：
A: Hey, it’s New Years Eve. Do you want to celebrate it together?
A：嘿，跨年夜到了，你想一起跨年吗？
B: Too bad, I have been too tired lately. I would rather stay home and be a couch potato this year.
B：太可惜了，我最近有点太累。我今年宁可在家里当懒惰虫就好了。
A: What a shame!
A：太可惜了！
