「装置艺术」的英文是?如何用英文聊设计?

Martin: You bet, Jessica. I would love to!

Jessica: Great!

Jessica: 太棒了!

Martin: Wow, there’s so many people here. I didn’t know there were so many art lovers in Taipei!

Martin: 哇,这里有好多人喔,我不知道现在也有这么多人喜欢展览。

Jessica: I think they should give the credit to whoever is doing online marketing for the gallery—I think that’s where most people heard about the exhibition.

Jessica: 我觉得这应该归功于网路行销,让更多人知道展览资讯。

Martin: That’s true. Also, with the cultural and creative industries becoming more and more developed, art is increasingly present in our daily lives.

Martin: 对,而且随着文创产业越来越发达,艺术的元素已经融入我们的日常生活了。

Jessica: You’re right. We’d better hurry up and get in line, or we might not get in!

Jessica: 你说得对。我们现在应该要来排队了,要不然我们看不了展览。

contemporary art (n.) 当代艺术

contemporary 是形容词,「当代的」的意思,加上 art 就是「当代艺术」之意。当代艺术是接续在现代艺术之后的一种艺术形态。

Contemporary art is different from modern art.

当代艺术跟现在艺术不一样。

exhibition (n.) 展览

exhibition 是名词「展览」,而「看展览」的动词可以用 visit, attend 或是 see。

I’m going to attend a sculpture exhibition this Friday.

我这周五要去看雕像展。

on (adj.) 展演中

on 在此不是介系词,而是形容词,表示「展演中」,也可以用 on display 表示。

cultural and creative industries (n.) 文创产业

cultural 是形容词,表示「文化的」,creative 是形容词,意思是「有创意的;和创意相关的」,而 industry 则是「产业」的意思,三个字合在一起就是「文创产业」。

My sister has decided to devote herself to the cultural and creative industries.

我姊姊决定致力于文创产业。

Marin: Nope, what is that?

Jessica: Unlike the way we “see” art with our eyes, installation art let you “experience” art in an interactive way.

Jessica: 不同于我们用眼睛「看」艺术,装置艺术让你用互动的方式「体验」艺术。

Martin: Wow, sounds cool. Maybe we can visit an installation art exhibition some other day.

Martin: 哇,听起来很酷,或许之后我们可以一起去体验装置艺术。

Jessica: Of course.

Jessica: 好呀。

busker (n.) 街头艺人

busk 是动词「街头卖艺」的意思,而字尾 -er 有「…的人」的意思,所以 busker 就是街头卖艺的人,也就是「街头艺人」。

David is currently a busker. He makes a living performing his own music on the street.

David 目前是一个街头艺人,在街上表演他自己的音乐养活自己。

installation art (n.) 装置艺术

电脑下载完成后电脑画面常常会出现 install 这个字,也就是「安装」的意思,而 installation 是其名词,后面加上 art 是什么意思呢?装置艺术是需要组装才能完成的艺术,installation art 因此得名。

It is always interesting to go to an installation art exhibit because we are allowed to feel the art itself.

参观装置艺术很有趣因为我们可以亲自体验艺术本身。
