President Xi Jinping has met with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who briefed about the latest efforts to find the missing Malaysia airliner.
In a meeting on Friday afternoon in Beijing, President Xi expressed gratitude for Australia’s work to find flight MH370, which had 154 Chinese citizens on board. He said China would spare no efforts to find the plane, and hoped to keep close communication and cooperation with Australia.
The two leaders also talked about cooperation in other areas like trade, military, international crime and cultural exchanges. They agreed that the two countries should keep promoting their strategic relationship, strengthening high-level talks and speeding up talks on a free trade agreement.
