【发音要领】
先看上面这张图的舌位变化。元音/ɒ/和/ɔː/都属于后元音，也就是说发音时都应该将舌头向喉咙的方向往后拉，最高点在舌头后部；而两者相比之下，/ɔː/的舌后部抬得更高，嘴唇的形状也收得更圆，向前突出也较多些，总的来说，读/ɔː/的发音时肌肉较紧张。
比较一下两个音标的发音：/ɒ/ vs. /ɔː/
