The robotic submarine Bluefin-21 has completed its eighth trip underwater off the coast of western Australian, in the search for the Malaysian airliner MH370.
The Perth-based Joint Agency Coordination Center has said that as of Monday, Bluefin-21 has searched about two thirds of the focused underwater search area on the bottom of the Indian Ocean. But nothing of interest has been found.
The center said an underwater sonar scan of that area is expected to be completed in five to seven days.
The focused underwater search area is defined as a circle with a 10 kilometer radius around where the second signal was detected 13 days ago.
