187 people are confirmed dead, with 115 still missing. A South Korean official informed the Chinese Embassy in Seoul, that the body of the fourth and last Chinese national on board was found in Friday’s search.
A special ship route has been set up to transport the bodies of the victims. And a 13 kilometre-long barrier net has been put up to stop bodies being washed away by ocean currents. 36 ships are assisting the collection of personal items of the victims.
Officials said they have searched 35 out of 111 cabins. They’ve also admitted to handing the wrong bodies to some families, but have promised to prevent that from happening again by matching the DNA, finger prints or dental records.
