乌克兰南部港口敖德萨发生冲突,已造成43人死亡。
Clashes have taken place in the southern Ukrainian port of Odessa, resulting in a fire that left at least 43 dead.
They were triggered by Ukraine’s offensive to recapture the eastern city of Slovyansk from anti-government forces. The clashes erupted late on Friday between anti-government forces and government supporters in the key port on the Black Sea coast. Police said a deadly fire broke out in a trade union building, but did not give details on how it started.
According to Ukrainian news reports, the pro-Kiev demonstrators broke up an encampment of Moscow supporters outside the trade union building. The latter took refuge in the building, which then caught fire. The Odessa government declared Saturday to Monday as days of mourning.
