莫奈罕见《睡莲》图在纽约拍卖会上被一中国人以2700万美元拍走。
Claude Monet's rarely seen "Water Lilies" has sold at auction in New York for just over 27 million US dollars, to a Chinese buyer.
The 1907 painting of Monet’s Giverny garden in France sold at Christie’s on Tuesday. The work was part of the estate of the late copper heiress Huguette Clark. It has not been publicly exhibited since 1926. "Water Lillies" had been expected to sell for 25 to 35 million dollars.
The buyer was a private client of Elaine Holt, Christie’s vice president and director of Impressionist and modern art in Hong Kong.
