CICA即将开幕 上海加强安检工作
上海正在为即将在5月20日至21日开幕的 CICA会议加强安检工作。
Shanghai is beefing up security ahead of the CICA summit from May 20th to 21st.
This is one of the city’s first emergency units. They’re charged with keeping the city safe and their first mission is to provide security during the upcoming summit which will be attended by delegates from nearly 40 countries and international organizations.
Along with the special units, armed police have been stationed on the most crowded streets.
Chen Songyun and Wang Defeng are patrol partners and their orders are to guard key bus stations. Since April 20th, more than 1,000 patrol officers have been certified to carry 9mm revolvers. Previously local police walked their beats without fire arms.
The tightened security is welcomed by local residents.
For local residents the summit also means an extra day off. Preparations for the summit are entering the final stages and the city appears ready to go.
