土耳其矿难事故死亡人数已经增至298人。救援工作还在继续,但是进展缓慢。
Death toll of the worst mining accident in Turkey has risen to 298. Rescue work continues but moves slowly. A team formed by Turkey’s fire department, national medical center and mine workers is working around the clock.
The energy minister says there are still dozens of workers inside the coal mine, and no one else is expected to come out alive. He says a fire still burning inside the mine "is declining."
Tuesday’s disaster followed an explosion and a fire at a power distribution unit. Most deaths were caused by carbon monoxide poisoning. 787 people were inside the mine, and 383 were rescued.
