Loaded是个美国俚语,表示“有钱”,但是只用做表语,不出现在名词前。
2. My brother is very comfortably off. He has a career in finance.
我的哥哥很富有,他从事金融业。
这里的comfortably off也可以换个说法,如:
My brother has enough money to live comfortably.
意思就是有足够的钱,可以过得很舒适。
3. Hotel staff were trying to keep their well-heeled guests comfortable.
宾馆的工作人员当时尽量让那些有钱的客人们能住得舒服。
heel这个词谁都不陌生,为什么well-heeled就能表示有钱呢?这是因为在美国,最早只有富人们才有条件经常更换鞋跟,让鞋子能穿得久一些。普通人家付不起频繁更换鞋跟的钱,所以well-heeled就带有“富有”的意思了。

be rolling in money/it 这个短语意思就是钱多得可以在里面打滚,有一种钞票滚滚而来的感觉,也就是我们说的“家财万贯”。

fat cat不是胖猫,在美国俚语中,特别指有钱有势的大亨。

made of money 光从字面上就能看出来——“用钱做的”,意思就是“有钱”。
