The train departed from Changsha on May 27, and passed a corridor through Russia and Ukraine. It carried 41 containers of electronic products, shoes, apparel, fiber optic cables, hardware and machinery parts.
The freight train service will operate in one way once a week during the initial stage.
Besides the rail link in China's north, the two countries are also connected in the south by the China-Europe Land-Sea express line. Last year, trade between the two countries reached more than nine billion US dollars, and this year it is expected to exceed 10 billion US dollars.
