A wild elephant strayed into a village in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Tuesday.  A video taken by local residents showed that the elephant was seen near a primary school in the morning and then took a stroll on the village road, causing disruption to the residents.

According to local residents, there have been a total of 18 Asian elephants appearing near the village recently. Asian elephants are rare species in China and are under state protection. The elephants commonly inhabit in southwestern Yunnan Province.
