肯尼亚第十三届“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛
最近,孔夫子学院在肯尼亚内罗比大学举办了“汉语桥”世界大学生中文比赛。
The Confucius Institute at the University of Nairobi in Kenya recently held a Chinese language and culture event to try to create a bridge between the two countries.
Seventeen Kenyan students from five different schools and training centers showcased their talent in Chinese arts and language skills at the competition in Nairobi. Competitors could choose to give a speech on the theme “My Chinese Dream” or perform a cultural piece.
Over the years, the number of students participating in such events has grown, despite the difficulties some have encountered when learning the Chinese language and culture.
After nearly three hours of fun, a winner was picked. The winner of the competition will go on a fully paid trip to attend the semi-final, and possibly the finals, in China. The second-placed runners up will get a fully paid trip to enjoy a four-week summer camp in China.
The competition is sponsored by the Chinese embassy in Kenya. Since its launch in 2002, more than 700 hundred students from more than 60 countries have participated.
17 Kenyan students from 5 different schools and training centres converged in Nairobi to showcase their talent in Chinese arts and their competency in the language.
