Baby panda Yuan Zai makes public debut in Taiwan
A six-month old baby giant panda, Yuan Zai, has made its public debut in Taipei City Zoo. Officials there say they will allow 400 visitors every ten minutes into the Panda House, with no more than twenty thousand visitors a day.

to media on Saturday and will meet the public on Jan. 6.
Taipei mayor Hau Lung-bin says Yuan Zai is in good condition and accustomed to the environment in the panda hall. Before meeting the public, Yuan Zai has had a thorough physical examination.
During Yuan Zai’s first appearance in front of cameras, she played around for some 20 minutes, then fell asleep. Taipei Zoo says she sleeps most of the day, and the best time to visit is in the morning and afternoon.
Yuan Zai was born last July. Her father and mother, Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan, were sent by the Chinese mainland in 2008.
