习近平呼吁上海推进改革
习近平主席参加完CICA会议后,参观了上海,呼吁上海推进改革、坚持科学发展、提升竞争力。
Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Shanghai after attending the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, urging the city to push forward reform, pursue scientific development and improve its competitiveness.
On Friday, President Xi visited the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone, saying the decision to build the zone was an important step in China’s reform and opening up in modern times. Since it was established last September, more than 16,000 enterprises with 280-thousand employees have entered the zone.
Later he went to the design and research center of China’s state-owned Commercial Aircraft Corporation, which designed China’s largest home made passenger aircraft C919. During the two-day inspection, the president also visited the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation and a medical science company.
Xi Jinping expressed his expectation for more independent intellectual property rights and innovation in Chinese enterprises. He also called on Shanghai to continue enhancing regional cooperation and integration and achieving fast economic growth.
